MSRB Board of Directors Meeting Agenda

The Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB) Board of Directors meets October 23-25, 2013, where it will discuss the following rulemaking topics.* A summary of actions taken by the Board at the meeting will be sent to regulated entities and published on the MSRB’s website following the meeting.

 
Best Execution
The Board will discuss public comments received on its concept proposal relating to the potential application of “best execution” concepts to transactions in municipal securities.

 
Municipal Advisor Regulation
The Board will discuss the SEC’s recently adopted final rule governing the permanent registration of municipal advisors.

 
Rule G-42, on Duties of Municipal Advisors
The Board will discuss a proposed new rule to set basic standards for the conduct of municipal advisory activities by municipal advisors. This proposal will not include duties of solicitors.

 
Rule A-12, on Registration
The Board will discuss public comments received on its proposed new registration rule.

 
Fair Pricing
The Board will discuss public comments received on its proposed consolidation of current MSRB Rules G-18, G-30 and interpretive guidance to create one rule on fair pricing.

 
Professional Qualifications
The Board will discuss professional qualifications exams and continuing education requirements for municipal securities dealers.
