Pearson Vue – Last Day to Provide FINRA Exams
December 31, 2017
Effective January 1, 2018, Prometric will be the exclusive vendor delivering FINRA and its client exams. December 31, 2017 will be the last day candidates can take their exam at a Pearson VUE testing center.
fter you are enrolled to take an examination, FINRA will post a 120-day window in Web CRD in which you can schedule an appointment with one of two vendors to take the required qualification exam(s). Be sure to schedule your exam session as far in advance as possible to secure your desired exam date.
Step 1: Find a testing center
The first step is to find a testing center that is convenient to you. Pearson VUE and Prometric have testing centers throughout the United States and around the world.
Step 2: Schedule your exam
After locating a Pearson or Prometric testing center, you can schedule an appointment with either vendor online or by phone.

The selected vendor will need to know:
- your name and CRD number (FINRA ID# if you enrolled through the Test Enrollment Services System (TESSTM));
- phone number where you or your firm can be reached; and
- the name of the exam or its identifying series ID (e.g., Series 7).
It is possible for you to schedule two or more different exams on the same day, However, you must make a separate appointment for each of the exams when contacting the vendor to schedule the date.
NOTE: It is your responsibility to ensure that your appointments do not overlap. Appointment availability will vary by exam location.
If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, make sure you do so a minimum of 10 business days in advance to avoid any fees. Appointments rescheduled or cancelled within 10 business days will result in a reschedule or cancellation fee.
